November 18, 2015, 3:19p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY has inked a partnership with a Taiwanese academy for internship opportunities and doctorate scholarships.

Under the memorandum of understanding with Taiwan’s Academia Sinica, the Academia Sinica Institute of Physics will provide internship slots to applied physics and applied mathematics students of UST.

In addition, one or two faculty members will be granted scholarships under the Academia Sinica’s Taiwan International Graduate Program.

With the University pushing for internationalization through partnerships with institutions abroad, this agreement brings the number of UST’s foreign linkages to over a hundred.

Academia Sinica, founded in 1928, is one of the leading academic institutions in Taiwan. Research at the Institute of Physics focuses on three major areas: nanoscience, complexity, and medium- and high-energy physics. Clarence I. Hormachuelos
