November 25, 2015, 11:50p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY’S Food Technology course has received Level IV accreditation from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (Pacucoa), the highest quality seal given to a program.
The UST program is the first to obtain the status among schools offering the same program nationwide.
“The achievement of Level IV accreditation was made possible by the faculty, assistance from our college, support from the administration and of course, our students who sent their comments and evaluation to our department,” Food Technology chairperson Evelyn Ladines told the Varsitarian.
Ladines said the program was also applying for recognition from the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) as a Center of Excellence (COE), which recognizes excellence in teaching, research and publication, extension and linkages.
“Our department has already passed its documents for the application but it is still on pending status since the CHEd has not been establishing tools for food technology’s COE criterion,” she added. “We are the first school offering food technology to apply for COE.” Julius Roman M. Tolop
