May 5, 2016, 11:38p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY hiked its passing rate in the May 2016 civil engineering licensure examinations, results from the Professional Regulation Commission showed.

UST recorded a passing rate of 71.43 percent, with 35 Thomasians making the cut out of 49 examinees.

This was higher than last year’s 44.44-percent passing rate, in which 12 UST examinees passed out of 27.

Luvincci Tan of Mapua Institute of Technology led the new batch of civil engineers after posting a score of 93.70 percent.

De La Salle University-Manila was declared the sole top-performing school. It had an 80.68-percent passing rate, with 71 examinees passing out of 88.

The national passing rate climbed to 38.17 percent, with 2,245 passing the test out of 5,881 examinees. This was higher than last year’s 31.57-percent passing rate, wherein 1,361 made the cut out of 4,311 examinees. Dayanara T. Cudal
