Sept. 20, 2014, Saturday (1:40 p.m.) — THOMASIANS joined relief operations Saturday for 2,700 evacuees who took refuge at Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City due to storm “Mario.”

Twenty-nine Thomasians, led by the Central Student Council and the Student Organizations Coordinating Council, helped in repacking and distributing relief goods to families affected by floods.

Some volunteer Nursing students also provided initial medical assessment, like checking blood pressure, for the elderly.

Br. Arden Xerxes Dacuma said an estimated 2,700 evacuees were accommodated in Sto. Domingo. A quarter of the evacuees went back home to check their properties, but returned for breakfast. All evacuees returned to their respective homes afterwards, he said. Roberto A. Vergara, Jr.
