Four University offices will be led by new administrators this academic year.
Former Vice Rector Fr. Pablo Tiong, O.P has been appointed vice rector for religious affairs.
Tiong replaces Fr. Filemon de la Cruz, O.P. who also served as director of the UST Center for Campus Ministry.
Tiong was the University’s vice rector from 2008 to 2012. He became acting rector in 2012 before Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, O.P.’s election as rector that same year.
Fr. Christopher Jeffrey Aytona, O.P. will take the helm of the University’s Social Media Bureau.
Aytona succeeds Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P., an editor of Boletin Ecclesiastico de Filipinas, the interdiocesan bulletin published by the University, and pastor of Santisimo Rosario Parish.
Aytona, a communication arts alumnus of UST, is the national adviser of the Dominican Network Youth Group.
The Office for Student Affairs (OSA) and the Students’ Welfare and Development Board (SWDB) will be headed by Assoc. Prof. Socorro Guan Hing and Asst. Prof. Ana Ruby Paez, respectively.
Guan Hing, assistant dean of the College of Nursing from 2012 to 2017, succeeds Asst. Prof. Arlene Calara, who served as OSA director for a year.
Paez will also succeed Calara as director of the SWDB.
