THE UST Female Tracksters fortified their hold of the top spot with three more medals while the Male Tracksters snatched one in Day 3 of the UAAP Season 80 athletics tournament at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig Friday.

Louielyn Pamatian and Eloisa Luzon bagged gold and bronze, respectively, after clocking 58.01 and 58.45 seconds in the women’s 400-meter sprint.

Luzon then joined Karen Janario, Rosnani Pamaybay and Glaiza Salcedo for another gold in the women’s 4×100-meter relay with a 47.78-second finish.

“[Sa women’s] nangyayari lahat ng plan namin, lahat ng projection namin during the preparation,” UST head coach Manny Calipes told the Varsitarian.

Male Tracksters Romnick Nor, Joel Hera, Jay Nieles and Richard Roselim finished the men’s 4×100-meter relay with a 43.02-second output for the bronze.

“Sa men’s talaga, ang [goal] lang is maka-accumulate ng medals,” he added.

The Female Tracksters are currently ahead of the pack with an 8-4-4 gold-silver-bronze haul while the Male Tracksters have garnered only one silver and one bronze.

Fourth day of athletics action will continue tomorrow, 6 a.m., at the same venue.
