THE UST Golden Sox scored 4-3 come-from-behind win over the National University Bulldogs at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Sunday.

Down 0-2 until the sixth inning, the Golden Sox turned the tables with four runs by Ron Christian Dela Cruz, Kirk Daquis and Kristian Angeles in the seventh and eighth innings, 4-2.

NU scored again in the eighth inning following a Junmar Diarao run off a Kenneth Ybanez run-batted-in but it was not enough to send the game into extra innings.

“Off ang offense today dahil late na nakapag-warm up. Buti na lang lumabas late in the game and gumana ‘yung pitchers natin,” head coach Jeffrey Santiago told the Varsitarian.

The Bulldogs capitalized on UST’s faulty plays in the third and fifth innings to snatch two runs for a 2-0 advantage.

The Golden Sox notched their fourth win in six outings to land second place.

UST will face the De La Salle University on March 1, Wednesday, at the same venue.
