UST TIGER Cub Inand Fornillos was named to the Mythical Five of the UAAP Season 79 juniors’ basketball tournament.

The 6’2″ Filipino-Nigerian, who averaged a double-double of 11.5 points and 10.6 rebounds, joined Most Valuable Player and University of the Philippines’ Juan Gomez de Liaño, Ateneo de Manila University’s Dave Ildefonos and SJ Belangel and National University’s John Clemente in the Mythical Five.

“Inaalay ko kay God syempre and sa mga teammates ko and especially sa coaches. Kasi kung hindi sa mga taong ito, hindi ko ito maaabot,” Fornilos told the Varsitarian in an online interview.

Fornillos first played for the Arellano University’s Team B before transferring to UST in 2014.

The Cagayan de Oro native, who is just in his second year with the Tiger Cubs, expects the team to bounce back next season.

UST almost barged into the semifinals if not for the loss against the De La Salle-Zobel in their playoff match.

“Siguro ie-expect ng tao is yung same Fornilos pa rin, ‘yung susundin lahat ng sasabihin ng coach and magsa-sacrifice for the team to win,” he added.
