THE NATIONAL University Lady Bulldogs blew past the UST Growling Tigresses, 60-47, in the in the Fr. Martin Cup at the FEU gym in Morayta Sunday.
Down by as much as 15 in the payoff period, the Tigresses trimmed the lead to single digit with a 11-5 run.
Back-to-back conversions by Jack Animam prevented a UST comeback. She led NU with a game-high 15 points.
NU outscored UST, 12-3, in the pivotal third quarter.
Jhenn Angeles led UST with 12 markers.
Up next for the Tigresses are the University of the East Lady Warriors on Sunday, May 21, at the San Beda College gym in Mendiola.
