THE UE Lady Warriors escaped the UST Growling Tigresses, 44-34, in the Fr. Martin Cup at the FEU gym Sunday.
The Tigresses cut UE’s lead to one but the Lady Warriors pulled away with nine straight points, five of them from Ruth Tacula.
Eunique Chan paced UE with 10 points while Tacula chipped in eight markers.
Jhenn Angeles and Elondra Rivera scored 7 points apiece for UST.
“Ang dami naming easy shots. We could have won the game kung nai-shoot namin ‘yun,” UST coach Haydee Ong said.
The Tigresses will face the College of Saint Benilde on Sunday, May 28, at the same venue.
