THE UST Tiger Cubs collapsed against the Chiang Kai Shek College Blue Dragons, 78-71, in the 4th PCABL Smart Invitational Tournament at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy Sunday.
A turnover by captain CJ Balingit with two minutes left erased all chances of a UST comeback after closing the gap, 67-75.
Following a sluggish first half, UST sparked a 14-5 run to come to within five, 42-47, with over five minutes left in the third frame.
John Galinato powered the Blue Dragons with 15 points.
Tiger Cub CJ Cansino had 20 points and 13 boards while Bismarck Lina and RJ Baquial added 10 markers apiece.
The Blue Dragons scored 17 easy points off UST’s 27 turnovers.
The Tiger Cubs, now with a 1-3 record, will try to bounce back against the Adamson University Baby Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2:15 p.m., at same venue.
