The UST Growling Tigers fought hard but fell short against the National University Bulldogs, 91-83, on Sunday to remain the only winless UAAP squad.

UST dropped to a humiliating 0-10 record under coach Boy Sablan this season.

Issa Gaye’s putback late in the fourth sealed the win for the Bulldogs, who held UST to four points in the last 3:37 of the game.

“Katulad ng dati kinulang na naman kami sa huli. Hindi kami agad nakapag-adjust sa mga mali kaya nakuha ng NU ‘yung momentum nila,” team captain Marvin Lee said.

UST enjoyed a 43-40 lead at halftime after a layup by bigman Steve Akomo.

Gaye and Matt Salem had 22 points apiece for NU.

Akomo had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers while Lee chipped in 15 markers.

UST will next face defending champion De La Salle University on Oct. 29, Sunday, 2 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena.
