THE UST Tiger Spikers advanced to the finals after shutting down Far Eastern University, 21-17, 21-16, in the UAAP Season 80 beach volleyball tournament stepladder match at the SM Sands by the Bay Friday.
The Tiger Spikers led for most of the game, 19-15, and an FEU net error and Anthony Arbasto’s off-speed hit sealed their finals spot.
“Ang naging motivation nila dito yung kagustuhan nilang manalo sa game. Bukod pa sa parehas na silang graduating sa academics eh gusto din nila na umabot hanggang dulo,” UST coach Paul Jan Doloiras said
Arbasto chalked up 24 markers while reigning MVP Kris Roy Guzman added eight.
Tamaraw Jeremiah Barrica had 14 points.
Game 1 of the finals was cancelled due to inclement weather and will resume today, 3 p.m., at the same venue.
