THE UST Lady Booters surrendered a 1-2 decision against the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons in the UAAP Season 79 women’s football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Saturday.
Back-to-back conversions from Patricia Malonzo and Claudia Marie Mendoza in the 57th and 60th minutes, respectively, put UP in the lead, 2-1.
The Lady Booters tried to equalize with long shots in the 81st and 82nd minutes but both attempts hit the crossbar.
“Mabilis silang (UST) ma-disorganize,” UST head coach Priscilla “Aging” Rubio told the Varsitarian.
Charisa Lemoran freed herself from two UP defenders and found the back of the net before the whistle blew in extra time of the first half.
UST, still at second seat with a 3-2 win-loss card, will face the Ateneo de Manila University on March 25, Saturday, 6 p.m., at the same venue.
