THE UST Golden Booters punched a ticket in the Final Four, 2-1, over the Far Eastern University Tamaraws behind Kenneth Tuzon’s clutch goal at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Saturday.
With the game tied at 1-1, Tuzon found the back of the net from up close in the 88th minute off a Dionisio Busmion assist.
Fifth-place De La Salle University’s loss against the top-seed Ateneo de Manila University helped secure UST’s place in the semifinals.
“We have lapses. Ang pinaka-importante dito is ‘yung naka-goal kami, we have to address the deficiencies next game,” UST head coach Marjo Allado said.
FEU’s Mark Joseph Arranguez drew first blood in the 24th minute before UST’s Renz Gumban scored an equalizer 11 minutes later off a Conrado Dimacili assist.
UST (6-5-2 win-loss-draw) will play its last elimination round game against La Salle on April 20, Thursday, 2 p.m., at the Moro Lorenzo pitch in Katipunan.
