THE UST Golden Booters steamrolled the Adamson University Soaring Falcons, 3-0, in the UAAP Season 80 men’s football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Thursday.

Striker Marvin Bricenio delivered the final blow for UST with a flick in the 68th minute off a Steven Anotado cross, giving the booters a 2-0 win-loss record.

Dexter Benecio put UST on board with two goals in the 17th and 41st minutes.

“Good result kasi we had a lot of chances [to score]. It was a big win for UST so sana tuluy-tuloy lang, one game at a time,” UST head coach Marjo Allado told the Varsitarian.

Falcon Jusuel Pilarca tried to score for Adamson in the second minute but fumbled against the UST defense.

Brian Buno also attempted to equalize in the 21st minute but got blocked by UST keeper Zaldy Abraham.

Pilarca picked up a red card in the first half after a scuffle against Golden Booter Aljireh Fuchigami.

Fuchigami got a yellow card alongside Falcon Ejike Ugwoke in the 63rd minute following another scuffle.

Up next for UST are the National University Bulldogs on Feb. 15, Thursday, 2 p.m., at the same venue.
