Ace pitcher Anne Antolihao sealed UST’s UAAP Season 80 softball opener with a strikeout to subdue the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles, 7-0, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Thursday.

Despite the easy win, Softbelles head coach Sandy Barredo was not satisfied with the game.

“Tulog pa ang mga bata. Kulang pa kami sa practice. Kulang pa rin kami sa exposure sa laro,” Barredo said in an interview.

Shiela Perales’ drop in the shallow right field nailed a run batted in (RBI) single that sent Tanya Belano to the home plate, 1-0.

UST then scored a trio of runs in the second inning to lead by four, courtesy of Ariellyn Arreglado and Hannah Dela Torre’s hits.

After loading all the bases in the fourth inning, Tin Palma nailed two RBIs single, nearing a mercy rule. CJ Roa then scored the third run to the left field, 7-0.

The Softbelles will face the UP Lady Maroons on Monday, 9 a.m., at the same venue.
