POPULAR teen actress Diana Marie “Dimples” Romana will be UST’s official courtside reporter in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament this season.
Romana, a 17-year-old Tourism sophomore from the College of Education, was chosen by Studio 23, the network carrier of the UAAP’s 65th season.
Dimples underwent a selection process composed of a screening committee from ABS-CBN to represent UST.
Having student courtside reporters from participating schools was an idea conceptualized by Studio 23 back in the 63rd Season.
Romana was happy, but at the same time challenged with her new role, which is totally different from acting.
Being both a basketball and Tigers fan since entering UST, she hopes to add more color to the Tigers’ games through her reporting.
“I’ll try my best. I want to be as versatile as I can be, kasi karamihan ng reporters ay may pagka-biased dahil sa kanilang schools.” she said. Patrick Leonard M. Mayo
