THE UST Prime and the UST Yellow Jackets Drumline Team bagged gold medals in the 2017 Nationals at the Mall of Asia Arena Friday.
UST Prime, formerly known as UST Hype, ruled the co-ed college hip hop category of the National Dance Championships, beating the Prime Moverz and the University of Asia and the Pacific Squadra Dance Varsity which settled for silver and bronze, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets Drumline Team topped the National Drumline Championships. The National University Percussion Department landed second while the Ateneo de Manila High School Band placed third.
“Sobrang saya namin kasi first time naming sumali sa ganitong competition as Prime and ‘di namin inexpect na makakakuha agad kami ng championship,” Prime team captain Meeko Evangelista told the Varsitarian in an online interview.
