THE UST Tiger Jins dethroned De La Salle University to reclaim the UAAP Season 80 poomsae crown, winning three gold medals and one bronze medal at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym Tuesday.

UST remained the winningest team in the tournament with three championships.

De La Salle University dropped to second place with a 1-2-1 gold-silver-bronze medal tally while Far Eastern University finished third with one gold and one bronze.

National team stalwarts Jo Ninobla and Rodolfo Reyes Jr. struck gold in the poomsae individual female and male category, respectively. They teamed up to hit gold again in the mixed pair categories to clinch the crown.

“Early this year pa lang, na-formulate na namin ang teams, kung sinong bagay sa each category,” UST head coach Rani Ortega said.

The triumverate of Cyrinne Abenir, Erin Saceda and Nasatassja Limos settled for bronze in the finals.

Reyes and Ninobla used up their UAAP years together with Joseph Calo, Alyssa Bautista and Maica Peralta, who played as alternatives.
