THE UST Tiger Spikers trampled the University of the East Red Warriors, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, in the UAAP Season 79 men’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday.
UST held a slim 18-16 lead in the fourth set before unleashing an 8-2 run to clinch its fourth win in nine outings.
“Nagbunga naman ‘yung preparation namin kasi alam namin ‘yung target at ‘yung play ng kalaban kaya madaling mag-counter,” Tiger Spikers head coach Odjie Mamon told the Varsitarian.
Manuel Medina paced UST with 13 points while team captain Arnold Bautista, Tyrone Carodan and Jerico Jose each contributed 10 markers.
Red Warrior Edward Camposano led all scorers with 18 points.
