THE UST Junior Golden Tigresses grabbed their eighth-straight win with a masterful 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 beating of Far Eastern University Baby Lady Tamaraws in the UAAP Season 80 girls’ volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan Monday.
“‘Yung disiplina sa service dumarating na ‘yung gusto naming mangyari ngayon. Sa mga players, ‘yung duda nila sa sarili, nawawala na,” UST coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes Jr. said.
The Tigresses sizzled with a 12-3 run in the second canto to establish a 21-11 lead. FEU rallied back but Jane Eslapor’s through-the-block hit gave UST a 2-0 set lead, 25-17.
Laure led UST with 14 points while Imee Hernandez and Gayle Pascual combined for 15.
Abilaine Goc had eight points for FEU.
UST hammered 10 aces on the Lady Tamaraws’ faulty floor defense.
The Junior Tigresses will try to extend their unbeaten run against the De La Salle-Zobel Junior Lady Spikers on Oct. 18, Wednesday, 8 a.m., at the same venue.
