Five Thomasians named outstanding professionals
June 22, 2015, 7:59 a.m. - FIVE Thomasians were recognized as “Outstanding Professionals of the Year” by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) during its 42nd anniversary last June 18.
Thomasians Leila Florento, Teresita Barcelo, and Donald Lipardo were awarded as the most outstanding professional medical technologist, nurse, and physical therapist, respectively.
UST places 3rd in LET secondary level
May 23, 2015, 4:00 p.m. - THE UNIVERSITY was named third top-performing school in the March 2015 off-season licensure examination for teachers (LET) in the secondary level, while one Thomasian entered the top 10.
UST recorded an 89.06-percent passing rate, meaning 57 passed out of 64 examinees. This was slightly lower than last year's 89.29 percent, equivalent to 50 passers out of 56 examinees. UST was named the second top-performing school last year.
UST trailed behind University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman and Saint Louis University, which had 95.24- and 90.32-percent passing rates rates, respectively.
UST places second in librarian boards
May 8, 2015, 5:00 a.m. - THE UNIVERSITY emerged as the second top-performing school in the April librarian licensure examinations, with an 87.88-percent passing rate.
This year, 29 out of 33 Thomasian examinees made the cut, an improvement from last year wherein only three out of seven examinees passed.
The University of the Philippines-Diliman was named top-performing school, will all its 26 students passing the exams.
UST dominates LET boards
Oct. 27, 2014, 10:40 p.m. - THE UNIVERSITY kept its place as the top-performing school in the August licensure examinations for teachers (LET) in the elementary level, and placed second in the secondary level.
UST's passing rate was slightly lower at 98.57 percent, with 138 examinees passing out of 140. Ninth placer Richtelle Pauleene Silva led this year's batch of Thomasian elementary teachers with a score of of 87.60 percent.
