UST RECTOR Rev. Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, O.P. called on Catholics to renew themselves in faith as they commemorated the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross on Good Friday.
“Pinako sa krus ang Diyos upang tayo’y magkaroon ng pagbabago sa buhay [at] magbagong buhay,” Dagohoy said in his homily during the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion at the Santisimo Rosario Parish in UST.
Dagohoy, reflecting on the sixth word “It is finished,” said the death of Christ was the completion of God’s will.
“Ang mga salitang ‘natapos na’ na sinabi ni Hesus sa paanan ng krus … ay nagsasabing naisagawa at naisakatuparan ang kagustuhan ng Diyos,” Dagohoy said.
“The word of Jesus on the cross was a cry of triumph. It is a word that expresses an accomplishment,” he added.
The evening concluded with a procession of images of saints outside the UST campus.
