UST RECTOR Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, O.P. called on Thomasians to pursue “true beauty” through commitment with the truth during the University Mass for the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas at the Santisimo Rosario Parish Church on Friday.

Dagohoy said beauty should come with integrity in upholding what is good and true.

“When you Thomasians sing [the UST] hymn, we do not ask God to make our skin remain tight so that it won’t sag. We pray that God help us to be holy and become saints. Beauty as much as truth and good leads us to God,” Dagohoy said.

Dagohoy added that beauty enables a person to have clear thoughts and action.

St. Thomas Aquinas is UST’s patron saint and guardian. He is one of the 33 Doctors of the Church and is hailed as the Catholic Church’s greatest theologian.

The University will celebrate St. Thomas’s feast day on Jan. 28, with the theme, “Keep us in Beauty, in Truth and in Virtues, Celebrating St. Thomas Aquinas in the Year of the Youth.” P. A. GUMAPOS
