THE UNIVERSITY produced 47 new physicians out of 49 Thomasian examinees in the March 2026 licensure exams, where two UST alumni made it to the top 10.
Joseph Mauleon led the newly minted Thomasian physicians, placing fifth nationwide with a rating of 89.17%.
Joven Morales, also a medical technology alumnus, ranked seventh with a score of 88.75%. Morales previously placed fourth in the September 2019 medical technologists licensure examination.
UST’s passing rate slid to 95.92% (47 of 49) from 98.17% (321 of 327) in the October 2025 examination cycle.
The name of the topnotcher for the March 2026 cycle was withheld.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission, the results of five examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations on licensure examinations, while another taker’s result was withheld for further verification.
The national passing rate fell to 70.41% (1,954 of 2,775), from 77.50% (4,570 of 5,897) in the previous examination cycle.
The Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation is the only top-performing school with 100 or more examinees after producing 165 physicians (94.83%).
The board examinations for physicians were administered on March 23, 24, 30 and 31.
