The UST Central Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to conduct special elections in September for two vacant Central Student Council (CSC) positions: vice president and treasurer.

Onsite and online filing of certificates of candidacy will begin on Aug.18 and will run until Aug. 20. The preliminary list of candidates will be released on Aug. 21.

The final list of candidates will be announced on Aug. 22, which is also the final submission date for all requirements.

The online campaign period will run from Aug. 23 until Aug. 30. A non-active campaign day was set for Aug. 25.

Tagisan, or the mandatory debate for candidates, will happen on Aug. 30, to be followed by a no-campaign day on Aug. 31.

The election period will run from Sept. 1 to 6. Canvassing of votes and proclamation of winners will happen on the last day of voting.

In a Facebook post, the Comelec announced vacancies in the positions of vice president and treasurer, prompting special elections as required by the UST Student Election Code.

Annie Agon, who had won the post of vice president, was proclaimed the new CSC president in accordance with the constitution.
