FIVE Thomasian journalists took their oath as officers of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) for 2025-2026 on Wednesday, Oct. 15. 

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. administered the oath of the 11 newly elected MPC officers, five of whom are alumni. 

ABS-CBN News multiplatform reporter Job Manahan was elected vice president for online media. 

A former Varsitarian writer, Manahan joined ABS-CBN in 2019 and covered crime, disasters, and Malacañan Palace in 2022. 

GMA News Online’s senior news reporter Anna Felicia Bajo was elected secretary. 

Bajo, a former managing editor of digital media organization TomasinoWeb, became a reporter for GMA News Online in 2017, covering the House of Representatives, Department of National Defense, and Department of the Interior and Local Government.  

The Philippine Star’s Helen Flores was elected auditor. 

Flores obtained her Master of Arts in Communication in 2011. 

Alexis Douglas Romero, also from the Philippine Star, was elected public relations officer. 

Romero, who started as a reporter in 2006 for BusinessWorld covering defense, House of Representatives, energy, and finance, previously served as vice president for print of MPC. 

He teaches journalism courses in UST, where he obtained his Master of Arts in Journalism in 2020. 

Romero is the adviser of The Flame, the multi-awarded and internationally recognized official student publication of the Faculty of Arts and Letters. 

Jocelyn Reyes of the Malaya Business Insight was also elected to key positions in MPC.

The MPC is composed of Philippine journalists who are accredited by the government to cover presidential and Malacañang events. Alexandra S. Demaisip
