A FACULTY member from the College of Information and Computing Sciences was elected to the board of an international computer science group.
Asst. Prof. Edwin de Guzman of the Department of Information Technology was elected international teacher representative in the Board of Directors of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA).
The association’s members voted to elect six representatives to the board, who will serve a two-year term starting July 2026 until 2028.
De Guzman is the president of the CSTA Philippines chapter.
He is also the vice president for external affairs of the Multimedia Arts Association of the Philippines National Capital Region chapter.
De Guzman obtained his bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of the East Caloocan and his master’s degree in information technology from Bulacan State University.
Established in 2004, the CSTA is a professional association that supports computer science teachers through educational resources and training.
