BEHIND the renowned “Templora’s Touch” stands a Thomasian doctor whose dedication to beauty is deeply rooted in faith, discipline, and years of rigorous medical training.

Dr. Iris Templora, a multi-awarded aesthetic physician, has gained recognition for her signature anti-aging treatments and authentic Korean facials, which are available in her Templora Dermatologica clinics nationwide.

Templora’s journey to medicine began at the UST, where she spent nearly a decade completing her biology degree in 1999 and Doctor of Medicine in 2003.

Sobrang tagal namin nag-aral, pero, UST has been there to support us every step of the way. Naka-support ang [UST] in all our needs talaga,” Templora told the Varsitarian.

She shared that her years at the University shaped not just her academic training but also her spiritual foundation. As a student, she would visit the Santísimo Rosario Parish before classes and the hospital chapel during her clinical rotations.

“How we study — the discipline, the thinking, the mindset — all UST ‘yan,” Templora said. “Talagang ingrained ‘yong faith na you cannot do this alone. Nandyan si God to guide you.”

After completing her medical degree, she became an intern at Chinese General Hospital and passed the board exams before pursuing dermatology. At a time when aesthetic medicine was still emerging in the Philippines, she was captivated by the artistic and transformative side of skincare.

“I like studying skin diseases, but not so much. I like the paganda part, the kikay part,” she said.

With no local programs available, Templora pursued specialized training abroad, studying aesthetic medicine in Bangkok, Korea, Singapore, and London, where the field was already thriving.

She traveled twice a month to attend international workshops, bringing home new technologies and techniques for her Filipino patients.

Her early exposure overseas positioned her as a pioneer of advanced non-surgical treatments in the country and later as a fellow of the Philippine Academy of Aesthetic and Age Management Medicine, which was revived in 2009.

In 2005, she opened her first Templora Dermatologica clinic, offering cutting-edge aesthetic services such as Botox, fillers, thread lifts, and anti-aging procedures — treatments she helped introduce and popularize in the Philippines.

Templora continues to innovate by promoting non-invasive and preventive anti-aging care, which she calls pre-rejuvenation. For her, skincare should begin “at the age you want to preserve.”

Beyond treatments, she sees aesthetic medicine as empowerment, particularly for young patients dealing with self-esteem issues. She often tells them that beauty care is not about vanity but about regaining confidence and well-being.

Now at the helm of Top Aesthetics Corp., Templora manages SeoulSkin Aesthetic Lounge, which specializes in Korean facials and advanced skin treatments using products and technology sourced from Seoul.

Operating under the slogan “Korean technology done by Filipino hands,” the clinic strives to bring world-class beauty standards to local clients through Filipino expertise.

Recalling her days of sleepless study nights at the UST Central Library and a small cooperative café, Templora said the University instilled in her a work ethic defined by excellence without shortcuts.

“What stands out the most is how they molded us into what we are today,” she said. “Hindi ka papasok just for the sake na papasok. You have to learn. Ang goal ko always is to get the best result. Hindi puwedeng ‘pwede na.’ That is because of UST.”

Recently, SeoulSkin Aesthetic Lounge partnered with Opus Clinic, one of South Korea’s most esteemed beauty institutions.

Templora has received numerous honors, including the 2025 Icon of Influence Award, the Gawad ng Pagpapahalaga in Aesthetic Medicine from the City Government of Malabon, and the Tala Award. With reports from Jamiebeth P. Ortega and Justin Jacob S. Urag
