THE UNIVERSITY on Friday announced the implementation of “self-paced” instruction after an appeal from student leaders to suspend online classes.

According to UST’s latest advisory, professors will continue to provide learning materials and alternative learning tasks via UST Cloud Campus. The deadline of submission of graded assessments will be upon the resumption of regular classes.

“The University expresses its genuine concern for the welfare and well-being of everyone. At the same time, the University is mindful of our duty to facilitate, through our faculty, the development of desired learning outcomes for our students, taking into account present circumstances,” the advisory read.

On March 16, President Duterte imposed a Luzon-wide “enhanced community quarantine” to prevent the spread of Covid-19, during which people are not allowed to go out of their homes.

There are a total of 230 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Philippines as of writing.
