A TOTAL of 38,674 students have enrolled in UST for Term 1 of Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025, a seven-percent decline from the 41,554 enrollees recorded last year, based on preliminary data from the Office of the Registrar.
As of Aug. 7, UST’s student population consisted of 31,664 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, 5,262 students in Senior High School, 1,411 students in Junior High School, and 337 students in Education High School.
The regular enrollment period at UST ended on Wednesday. Beginning Aug. 8 and until Aug. 20, enrollees would have to pay an additional P750 as a late enrollment penalty.
The Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) recorded the biggest enrollment turnout this year with 3,621 students. It was followed by the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Pharmacy with 3,378 and 3,268 students, respectively.
Lower turnouts were observed in the following academic units:

- College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (1,911 from 2,019)
- Conservatory of Music (335 from 441)
- College of Rehabilitation Sciences (1,146 from 1,201)
- College of Nursing (679 from 729)
- Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (247 from 275)
- Education High School (337 from 345)
- College of Science (2,599 from 2,602)
- Faculty of Canon Law (73 from 76)
Freshmen enrollment up
Despite the slide in the overall student population, freshmen enrollment saw an improvement this year, rising to 12, 755 freshmen from 11,987 first-year students last AY.
The three academic units with the highest intake numbers also logged the most freshmen admissions.
Artlets had 1,159 first-year students, followed by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Engineering with 980 and 929 freshmen, respectively.
Onboarding activities for UST Manila freshmen ended on Aug. 7 with the ALAB, or the welcome rites for basic education students.
