UST maintained its status as a top-tier school for medical technology in the August 2024 licensure examinations, in which six Thomasians, including the topnotcher, landed in the top 10.
Leading the crop of newly minted medical technologists was UST alumna Riana Beatriz Siron, who scored 92.30 percent, the highest nationwide.
Joining her in the top 5 were Thomasians Noreen Corpuz, who ranked third with a 91.30-percent score, and Reigne Cañada, who placed fifth with a 91.10-percent score.
Thomasians Julius Tizon (No. 6; 91 percent), Kristine Servañez (No. 7; 90.90 percent), and Ruth Beltran (No. 9; 90.70 percent) also broke into the top 10.
UST emerged as the second best-performing school after 342 out of its 359 examinees passed, good for a 95.26-percent rating. This was a slight improvement from the 93.86-percent passing rate the University tallied in March.
UST was the top producer of new medical technologists in the cycle and was the only school to exceed 300 passers.
Saint Louis University was named the top-performing school after posting a 95.40-percent passing rate (83 passers out of 87 examinees).
The national passing rate decreased to 69.47 percent (3,872 of 5,574) from 80.60 percent (7,309 passers out of 9,068 examinees) in the previous cycle.
