TWENTY-FIVE Thomasians passed the August 2024 licensure examinations for mechanical engineers, in which UST posted a 35.21-percent passing rate. 

The number of Thomasian passers came from a pool of 71 examinees.

While UST’s recent passing rate dropped from the 68.14-percent rating it recorded in February, it surpassed the 32.84-percent national passing rate for the latest exam cycle. 

John Minancillo of the University of Cebu topped the board exams with a 90.60-percent score. 

Batangas State University – Alangilan emerged as the top-performing school after recording a 93.71-percent passing rate (164 passers out of 175 examinees). 

The national passing rate dipped to 32.84 percent (1,144 of 3,484) from 65.85 percent (4,458 of 6,770) in the previous exam cycle.

The August 2024 licensure exams for mechanical engineers were conducted from Aug. 16 to 18. 

Meanwhile, UST did not field an examinee in the August 2024 licensure exams for certified plant mechanics. Ella Mae A. Sison
