UST admitted a total of 42,941 students in Term 1 of Academic Year 2024-2025, a 3.34-percent increase from last year’s student population when UST first implemented a fully hybrid setup. 

Based on Aug. 22 data from the UST Office of the Registrar, the student population consisted of 35,685 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs, 5,423 students in Senior High School, 1,494 students in Junior High School, and 339 students in Education High School, a laboratory junior high school.

Despite a lower enrollment figure compared with the previous academic year, the Faculty of Engineering continued to log the highest enrollment with 3,973 students.

The Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) and the Faculty of Pharmacy followed with 3,895 and 3,369 enrollees, respectively. 

Higher enrollment turnouts were reported in the following academic units: 

  • College of Information and Computing Science (2,352 from 1,998)
  • Faculty of Arts and Letters (3,895 from 3,600)
  • Graduate School (1,613 from 1,396)
  • Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (428 from 275)
  • Faculty of Pharmacy (3,369 from 3,223)
  • Faculty of Civil Law (848 from 729)
  • Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (1,904 from 1,800)
  • College of Science (2,693 from 2,602)
  • College of Commerce and Business Administration (2,741 from 2,678)
  • College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (2,074 from 2019)
  • Graduate School of Law (112 from 63)
  • Conservatory of Music (467 from 441)
  • College of Fine Arts and Design (1,839 from 1,814)
  • Faculty of Philosophy (108 from 91)
  • Faculty of Sacred Theology (185 from 172)
  • Faculty of Canon Law (80 from 76)

The rest of the academic units experienced a slight dent in their enrollment turnout. 

The UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy tallied 1,922 enrollees this term, down from the 2,204 students it had last year.  

Freshmen enrollment up

The number of freshmen enrollees rose to 13,488 from 11,987 last year, translating to a 12.52-percent increase.

The three academic units with the highest intake numbers also logged the most freshmen admissions: 

Artlets had 1,205 freshmen, followed by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Engineering, each having 974 first-year students. 

Term 1 classes for Academic Year 2024-2025 began on Aug. 9.
