
UST GENERAL Santos (GenSan) has appointed its own Office for Student Affairs (OSA) head, tasked with overseeing all student-initiated activities and advising the Central Student Council at the branch campus.
An Office of the Secretary General (OSG) circular dated Oct. 22 named Josephine de Castro acting OSA director for UST GenSan. She previously served as assistant director at the Counseling and Career Office of the Mindanao campus.
As OSA chief, De Castro will oversee the activities and welfare of the 126 students of the Mindanao campus. Her office is also responsible for handling scholarship programs, accrediting student organizations, and managing disciplinary actions through the student welfare and development board.
In the same circular, the OSG announced the appointment of Fr. Edmund Nantes, O.P. as associate vice rector for finance and administration at UST GenSan. Previously, Nantes held the role of associate vice rector for finance.
Nantes, a former Filipino Dominican prior provincial, is also the chaplain of the School of Business and Accountancy.
Additionally, Br. Jose F. Fransisco, OP, was named the property custodian for UST GenSan.
UST Manila
Three new officials were named at UST Manila.
Fr. Roman Santos, O.P., the former finance director at the UST Hospital, was named assistant archivist of the Archivo de la Universidad de Santo Tomas, a post previously held by UST Secretary General Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P.
Santos is also the head of farm affairs at UST GenSan.
Fr. Felix de los Reyes Jr., O.P., will serve as officer in charge of the Faculty Philosophy, with Fr. Christopher Garinganao, O.P. as his assistant officer in charge.
Reyes was also named coordinator of the Center for Thomistic Studies. Amanda Luella A. Rivera
