UST GENERAL Santos (GenSan) is set to roll out official school attires for its three academic units, adopting designs used by their counterpart colleges at UST Manila.

Academic officials at UST GenSan told the Varsitarian that the branch campus would adopt both the “Type A” and “Type B” uniforms from UST Manila, with their mandatory use planned after the Undas break.

The Type A uniform serves as the official school attire at UST from the start of the academic year until Ash Wednesday. It is replaced by the Type B uniform, a lighter, summer-appropriate attire featuring short-sleeved polo shirts, for the warmer months.

The School of Business and Accountancy, which houses the entrepreneurship and accounting information systems programs, will implement an attire similar to that of the College of Commerce and Business Administration at UST Manila.

For men, the Type A uniform consists of a yellow long-sleeved polo, black blazer, and black tie, paired with black pants and closed black shoes. The attire is nearly identical for women but with a yellow inner blouse and an option for a black skirt.

The Type B uniform consists of a collared shirt, similar to those worn by College of Commerce and Business Administration students in Manila, paired with brown pants and closed shoes.

Students of the School of Engineering and Information Technology will wear a uniform similar to that of the Faculty of Engineering in Manila: a white polo shirt with gray accents, matched with black pants and closed black shoes.

The Type B uniform will be a polo shirt, black knee-length shorts, and closed black shoes.

The School of Business and Accountancy and the School of Engineering and Information Technology have adopted the logos of their counterpart colleges in their uniforms, which are displayed on the breast of the attire.

The School of Health Sciences, which houses the medical technology and pharmacy programs and is the largest academic unit in UST GenSan, implemented its Type A uniform on Oct. 14.

This design mirrors the Faculty of Pharmacy’s uniform in Manila, but features the UST logo on the breast instead of the faculty insignia.

The Type B attire for the School of Health Sciences will also be a purple scrub suit, but its final design has yet to be finalized.

Before the uniforms were introduced at UST GenSan, students wore smart casual attire that complied with the University’s dress code.
