THE UST Office for Grants, Endowments, and Partnerships (OGEP) has launched its official Facebook page to disseminate information about scholarships, research grants, and academic opportunities for Thomasians.

OGEP Director Levine Lao said the page provides a new platform to foster collaboration among students, academic staff, and external partners.

“OGEP’s social media aims to open more opportunities for Thomasians in scholarships, research, advanced studies, partnerships, and platforms where the community may gainfully exhibit their talents,” Lao told the Varsitarian.

“Sometimes, all one needs is a break, an opportunity to grow. Hopefully, we can help Thomasians in this aspect,” he added.

OGEP oversees scholarships, professorial chairs, research grants, travel grants, and postgraduate thesis or dissertation programs for faculty members. The office also secures external funding for UST initiatives.

During the first term of Academic Year 2024-2025, the office facilitated scholarships for over 700 students, funded entirely by external donors.

Lao said the Facebook page would also serve as a “channel of connection” between UST and its partners, and would report the progress of initiatives supported by external funding.

The page will feature researchers and their work to showcase the University’s commitment to its academic staff and encourage Thomasians to pursue scholarly endeavors.

OGEP collaborates with several University administrative units, including the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, UST Research and Endowment Foundation, Inc., the Office of the Vice Rectors for Academic Affairs, and the Office of the Vice Rector for Finance.

It was established in 1992 under the Office of the Rector. with reports from Hannah Joyce V. Andaya
