THE UNIVERSITY produced 195 new certified public accountants, including three topnotchers, in the December 2024 licensure exams for certified public accountants (CPA). 

The number of Thomasian passers came from a pool of 262 examinees.

Thomasians Alexia Guadalupe and Andrew Halili shared the No. 8 spot with a score of 88%.

Alexandra Osias, another graduate of the UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy, ranked ninth with an 87.83% score. 

UST’s passing rate improved to 74.43% (195 of 262) from 65.26% (139 of 213) in May 2024.

The University of the Philippines Diliman was named the top-performing school with a 98.04% passing rate (50 of 51).

Jianne Yu of the University of San Carlos topped the exams after scoring 89.67%. 

The national passing rate dipped to 30.17% (3,058 of 10,136) from 31.37% (2,740 of 8,734) in the previous cycle. 

The December 2024 licensure exams for certified public accountants were conducted from Dec. 6 to 8.
