VETERAN broadcast professional Asst. Prof. Faye Abugan will end her three-year term as assistant director of the UST Communications Bureau this year, she confirmed to the Varsitarian

Abugan will switch roles with Earl Pantoja, business manager of the Tiger Media Network (TMN), UST’s student-led broadcasting arm. The business manager post will be handled by Abugan on Jan. 1, 2025. 

“While my time as assistant director has come to an end, I will continue to serve as Business Manager for this term. In this capacity, I remain committed to supporting TigerTV and Tiger Radio as platforms that showcase your stories, talents, and passion,” Abugan said. 

“Being part of the vibrant and dynamic student media community has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role,” she added. 

Abugan, who had served various production roles at TV5 and is the founding director of the UST educational broadcasting unit, will concurrently serve as TMN adviser and business manager. 

Philippe Hernandez of the Senior High School will remain director of the UST Communications Bureau. 

“I look forward to continuing our shared mission to represent UST’s voice in ways that are innovative, impactful, and authentic,” Abugan said.

Established in 2018, the UST Communications Bureau oversees the University’s broadcast and online media initiatives, providing coverage of major academic activities and University-wide events. It operates under the Office of the Secretary General. with reports from Sydney Venice V. Berba
