A TOTAL of 41,605 students enrolled in UST for Term 2 of Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025, data released by the Office of the Registrar after the late enrollment period on Thursday showed.
This intake figure was 3.11% lower than the 42,941 Thomasians enrolled in Term 1. Compared with Term 2 of AY 2023-2024, however, the total marked a 2.33% increase from 40,657 enrollees.
Historically, Term 2 enrollment is always lower than Term 1 enrollment.
UST’s Term 2 population consisted of 34,320 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs, 5,450 students in Senior High School (SHS), 1,496 students in Junior High School, and 339 students in Education High School.
Despite a 1.75% drop in enrollees from Term 1, the Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) logged the highest enrollment total with 3,827 students.
Artlets surpassed the Faculty of Engineering, previously UST’s most populous academic unit, which saw a steep 3.80% drop in enrollees to 3,822 from 3,973 in Term 1. This figure is 9.84% lower compared with its turnout in Term 2 last year.
The Faculty of Pharmacy tallied 3,204 students while the College of Commerce and Business Administration had 2,707 enrollees.
Here are the other academic units’ Term 2 turnouts compared with the Term 1 figures:

- College of Fine Arts and Design (1,833 from 1,839)
- Faculty of Philosophy (99 from 108)
- Faculty of Sacred Theology (177 from 185)
- Faculty of Cannon Law (76 from 80)
Review classes and short courses in UST saw the biggest dip in enrollees to 49 in Term 2 from 65 in Term 1, a 24.62% decrease.
Enrollment at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery went down by 16.81% to 1,584 this term from 1,904.
The Faculty of Civil Law saw a 10.61% drop in enrollees to 758 students from 848 enrollees during the same period.
The Graduate School of Law achieved the biggest growth in student population with a 4.46% increase, recording 117 students this term from 112 in the previous term.
The Institute of Physical Education and Athletics saw enrollees rise by 1.40% to 434 from 428, while the College of Rehabilitation and Sciences posted a 1.13% increase to 1,159 from 1,146.
Classes for Term 2 began on Jan. 13.
