AIMING to combat historical disinformation about the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, the UST Department of Journalism, the UST Journalism Society and Probe Productions will hold a film screening and talkback session featuring content creators and an award-winning journalist on Feb. 26.

The event, titled “Revisiting People Power through Film, Archives, and Dialogue,” will screen the documentary “(Which) People, (What) Power?”

Produced by Probe and TrueID, it follows the story of a Gen Z character’s encounters with key figures of the 1986 EDSA uprising, which marks its 39th anniversary this year.

An exhibit of Probe Archives’ documentaries on the revolt will showcase pivotal moments that led to the downfall of dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., whose son is now president.

After the screening, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and UST journalism faculty member Manny Mogato will discuss the role that media played during the revolution. He will be joined by Probe Archives Head Julie Nealega and Probe Partnerships Head Joseph Cataan in the talkback session.

TikTok content creators Mighty Magulang, Mathilda Airlines, and Drag Race Philippines Season 3 finalist Your Tita Baby will also sit as panelists in the forum.

Probe founder Cheche Lazaro will deliver a video message.

The event at the UST Education Auditorium is open to all Thomasians.

Established in 1988, Probe Productions is an independent documentary production company with an extensive collection of archival documentaries on politics, the environment, and other social issues. Micah G. Pascua
