THE RUNDOWN, a youth-led initiative, is set to hold the 2025 edition of its Senate Elections Forum on March 15, grounded on the theme “Kinabukasan ng Kabataang Pilipino: Karapatan, Kaligtasan, Kalayaan.”
The youth-led senatorial forum aims to empower the youth to participate in the country’s political discourse and engage with senatorial candidates.
Ahead of the midterm elections in May, The Rundown will focus on critical issues directly affecting the youth, including human rights, safety and security, and independence.
The forum will have a series of segments where candidates will share their platforms and stances on various issues.
It will begin with an introductory speech, followed by a question and answer portion, panel discussion, debate, and a final speech.
Since its establishment in 2013 The Rundown has served as a platform for a collective national television audience, with more than 2,000 live attendees, 48,000 online attendees during the pandemic, and a total of 62 senatorial candidates.
In its previous edition in 2022, the forum had more than 100,000 online viewers. It was hosted by Asst. Prof. Christian Esguerra of the UST Department of Journalism.
Among the candidates who attended the forum in 2022 were Chel Diokno, Risa Hontiveros, Luke Espiritu, and Dick Gordon.
#OwnTheFuture with The Rundown, scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM. This event will be held in Benito Sy Pow Auditorium, UP Diliman, co-presented by ABS-CBN and live streamed by Rappler.
