FR. ROMAN Santos, O.P., who has held a number of posts in UST Manila, General Santos (GenSan), and Legazpi, has been selected as the 11th rector and president of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba.
Letran Calamba officially announced Santos’s appointment in a Facebook post on April 28.
“A true servant-leader, Fr. Santos brings with him a strong foundation in philosophy, theology, healthcare administration, and finance,” the post read.
“His dedication to Dominican values, coupled with years of experience across academic and ecclesiastical settings, prepares him well to guide the Colegio,” it added.
A licensed pharmacist, Santos entered the priesthood in 2007.
He was appointed assistant vice president for finance at UST Legazpi in 2020 before moving to the Manila campus in 2022 to serve as director of finance at UST Hospital.
Santos was named assistant archivist of the Archivo de la Universidad de Santo Tomas and farm affairs head of UST GenSan in October 2024.
This year, he was again appointed to multiple posts: acting regent of the College of Education in January and the same position in the Education High School in February.
Santos succeeded Fr. Napoleon Encarnacion, O.P., who served as Letran Calamba’s rector from 2021 to 2025.
