THE UNIVERSITY is set to kickstart UAAP Season 88 with performances from various artists in the “Hope Concert” at 8 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the UST Grandstand.

The concert will feature performances from singer-songwriters Rob Deniel, known for his single “Ulap” and  Earl Agustin, notable for his song “Tibok.” 

Filipino band Lola Amour, which performed in the 2019, 2022 and 2023 Paskuhan festivities, is also set to headline the UAAP opening concert. 

The University will serve as host of this year’s UAAP, a decade since last taking on the role in Season 79.

Event organizers, composed of the UST Central Student Council (CSC), Student Organizations Coordinating Council, and TOMCAT – UST, have released entry and security guidelines, requiring attendees to comply with security inspection procedures.

In a Facebook post, organizers listed prohibited items such as tobacco and electronic cigarettes, weapons and other dangerous objects, alcoholic or intoxicating substances, as well as drones and pets.

Thomasians who wish to watch the concert may enter by tapping their UST identification card at the entry points, while alumni must present their alumni card or a valid ID for 2025 graduates. 

Delegates from other UAAP member-schools must present both a ticket and valid school ID to enter. 

Thomasian attendees may enter through the following entry points: 

  • España – Gate 1 and Gate 6
  • P. Noval – Gate 7 
  • Dapitan – Gate 10 and Gate 11
  • Lacson – Gate 14 

Alumni will be allowed entry through España Gate 1, while spectators from UAAP schools may use España Gate 3. 

Gates will open at 12 p.m., ahead of the Eucharistic celebration at 2 p.m.

The concert will be streamed via the Pilipinas Live app and UST’s official Facebook page, and through broadcast channels OneSports and UAAP Varsity Channel on Cignal TV. 

The University declared Sept. 19 a carless day and a “Yellow Day,” where Thomasians are encouraged to wear yellow, while observing the prescribed dress code. Czeantal Naomi P. Delos Santos
