The highly anticipated Grand Paskuhan Concert is expected to draw 42,000 attendees on Friday, Dec. 19.
The projected turnout represented the entire UST population, said Assoc. Prof. Juliano Parena, director of the Campus Safety and Security Office.
For the fourth consecutive year, the event will be exclusive to Thomasians.
Last year, 42,655 people attended the concert, higher than the 39,638 recorded in 2023. Live monitoring showed that the number of people on campus consistently remained within the 30,000 range.
Parena said during a Nov. 27 information session that the crowd count would be updated every 10 minutes, instead of the 30-minute interval implemented last year.
Entry, re-entry, and exit protocols
UST gates will open at 6 a.m., with the cut-off period “determined as conditions required by the UST Central Committee University Events.”
Thomasians may enter through Gates 1 and 3 on España Boulevard, Gate 9 (Dapitan Street) and Gate 14 (Lacson Avenue). Alumni will be accommodated exclusively through Gate 11 on Dapitan Street.
Exit gates are as follows: Gates 2 (España Boulevard), 7 (P.Noval), 10 (Dapitan Street), and 14 (Lacson Avenue).
A three-layered security protocol will be implemented at each entrance, consisting of an ID check, bag inspection, and wristband verification.
Individuals who will be exiting temporarily must inform the guards, after which a stamp will be placed to allow re-entry through the designated gates.
Paskuhan Concert
The Paskuhan concert will be headlined by Nation’s girl group BINI and OPM folk-pop band Ben&Ben, joined by fellow OPM artists Rob Deniel, Zack Tabudlo, and Amiel Sol.
Thomasian performers will be joining the stage, including the winners of Tunog Tomasino: Golf & Sunsets, Csig, and Opmium.
Several university-based groups will also showcase their talents, such as Salinggawi Dance Troupe, UST Yellow Jackets, UST Prime, UST Sinag Ballroom Dance Company, Nursing Dance Troupe, Engineering Dance Troupe, as well as various Thomasian chorales and singers.
The Paskuhan concert will feature an eight-minute pyromusical display inspired by “Encantadia” and “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” to mark the culmination of the University’s month-long Christmas festivities.
