Junver Toledo, a physical therapy student from the UST College of Rehabilitation Sciences, passed away on May 17. He was 22.
His death was confirmed by his father, Oliver, through a Facebook post.
Toledo was supposed to graduate from UST in June.
He took his own life after allegedly failing a subject for the second time at the College of Rehabilitation and Sciences, according to a note left behind and shared by his father on social media.
In the note, Toledo mentioned that he fell short by only 1.5% to pass the subject.
In a separate post, Charmaine, Junver’s relative, said the UST student had consistently performed well in his studies and had no other failing marks in college.
“You managed to pass all your other subjects with good grades. You never had any other failed subjects all throughout your college days except for that one subject that made you decide to take your own life,” she said.
Born on June 12, 2002, Junver was a graduate of the Philippine Science High School – Cagayan Valley Campus.
His wake will be held until May 25 at Funeraria Gambito in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
A funeral Mass will take place on May 26 at St. Louis Beltran Parish Church, followed by interment at Heritage Memorial Park Solano.
