FOUR FACULTY members from the College of Science have been elected to the board of directors of the Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas (KKP), the country’s society of chemists. 

Prof. Christina Binag, who served as the society’s president for a two-year term starting 2021, was elected to a three-year tenure on the board that will run from 2025 to 2028.

Also elected to a three-year term of office was Professor Emeritus Fortunato Sevilla III.

Sevilla first served on the board of directors in 2021. He was president of the association from 1990 to 1995.

The UST Department of Chemistry chair, Assoc. Prof. Alan Salcedo, was elected to serve a two-year term, from 2025 to 2027.

Assoc. Prof. Felicidad Peñafiel will be serving a one-year term from 2025 to 2026.
