A day after winning gold at the Asian Indoor Championships, EJ Obiena captured bronze at the INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe in Germany on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Obiena secured a podium finish after clearing 5.70 meters, matching his performance at the Asian meet.
Sondre Mogens Guttormsen of Norway won the gold medal after clearing 5.84 meters, while U.S. vaulter Cole Walsh earned silver with a height of 5.78 meters.
Before this bronze-medal finish, Obiena completed an “Asian Slam,” winning gold at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games and the Asian Athletics Championships.
After Germany, Obiena still has several competitions lined up in Europe, but he has yet to finalize his schedule.
