The UST Lady Shuttlers dropped their second straight game, yielding to the Adamson Lady Falcons, 3-2, in the UAAP Season 88 women’s badminton tournament at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex Badminton Hall on Sunday, Oct. 12.

In the first singles match, UST’s Reshane Nicor ran out of gas in the third set against Adamson’s Marianne Barcelona, 21-12, 19-21, 21-13.

Lady Shuttlers rookie Hanie de Jesus outdueled Khylle Agura, 21-12, 21-18, for UST’s first win.

The UST duo of Christine Dorrega and Rhaffi Santos took the opening set but failed to sustain their momentum against Adamson’s pairing of Barcelona and Rheylyn Pedron, 15-21, 21-14, 21-19.

Maye Alvarez and Jen Saladaga then routed Adamson’s duo of Graziel Cabriga and Mary Ondol to force a decider, 21-11, 21-15.

In the deciding match, UST’s Lizzy Belen rallied to a third set against Adamson’s Aubrey Fuerte but failed to hold her ground, 21-14, 13-21, 21-12.

The Lady Shuttlers will look to break their losing streak against the UP Fighting Maroons on Oct. 15 at the same venue.
